I have to go back and talk about Rome again, so I can tell you all about Hotel Cavalieri where we stayed for three nights. I am having a very lazy afternoon in Croatia so I can spend some time on a few stories for Monday.
Where to begin.. all I can say is timeless, grand and glorious! The hotel is situated on the top of a hill in Rome facing the magnificent cit. Some say that not to stay in the centre of the city is ludicrous, but I think each to his own when traveling! We had a bit of a formula going: in the morning after a scrumptious breakfast we hit the sight-seeing without any guidebooks but rather our combined sixth sense on where to go + some tips from friends. In the afternoon we would be lazy and tranquil by the beautiful outside heated pool at the Rome Cavalieri. This was my best time people watching – all the beautiful Italians!
Hotel Cavalieri has an outside pool and an inside pool decorated in complete grandness which seems to be the general theme in Rome! The spa feels like you are in the sistine chapel and the steam room makes you feel like you are in ancient Roman times.
Every wall in the hotel is adorned with 18th century paintings and antiques that will make you feel like you are living in a palace. On the roof of the hotel is the restaurant La Pergola which has 3 Michelin stars and I from what I could see it has the highest point of view in all Rome. I felt like I was starring in the movie Angels and Demons as I looked down at Rome!
A must see when in Italy everyone!
