The enchanted Bastide les Amis in Menerbes is the perfect home of my in-laws to throw a party in honour of Franki – and secretly so grand-maman and grand-papa could show off little Franki to their friends who also live in the village! We all spent the day preparing the tables against the magnificent backdrop of the garden where we got married. You’ll see below the cute little flower arrangements on each table from flowers hand-picked from the garden. No last-minute rush to the shops in Provence – just head into the garden and see what materializes!
The menu for the evening was left to grand-maman, Lovonne to decide (who by the way is a foodie of note)! Salmon mouse entrees, salads, three different kinds of potato bake and one whole lamb on a spit braai! I would tell you the famous sauce that gets used on the lamb whilst it roasts for the day, but I think this is one family secret that gets guarded for life (HINT: Coca-Cola!). Dessert was beautifully flower-decorated cakes and lots and lots of rosé!
Oh, did I mention there was wine? I think the pictures below tell a tale..
THANKS grand-maman and grand-pap – what a wonderful day!
