We thought we would escape to Grootbos for the weekend just before my buying trip on Monday. It’s always a good idea to chill before an overseas trip so your nerves are calm, and Grootbos is just the place. We decided to visit the small town of Stanford to do a bit of antique shopping at the Stanford trading store. If you ever need some ideas of how to do colonial mixed with a true South African feel in your home then this is the place. We left with our boot packed with old vintage Dunlop tennis rackets, a cricket bat, an old vintage kettle and Pineapple wooden lamps.
