The Great Gatsby!

This past weekend I was sick in bed with terrible flu so I decided to watch the all time classic The Great Gatsby! The story by the famous author F. Scott Fitzgerald sets the scene of the 1920’s. Women and men had overcome century old rules with regards to behavior and dress. Women were allowed to vote, they threw out there corsets and the craze was to look like a boy. Flat chests were in vogue which drew inspiration from the new lady on the block Coco Chanel.

The term Flapper was used to describe these young girls – the trend was to be able to move around freely, dresses hung loosely and no longer drew attention to the waistline! This allowed the flappers to dance to their new dance – the Charleston!

In the movie, Jay Gatsby throws these huge party’s every night hoping that the lovely Daisy Buchanan (whom he is in love with) will show up! It’s a must see, girls! All you will want to do is dress up and go dancing all night!
