Supermodel Kate Moss has designed her 14th and last collection for Topshop, ending a three-year association with the UK fast fashion retailer. Her final range will launch in store on October 10.
Owner Sir Philip Green said the split with Moss was amicable as she moves on to pursue other projects.
Green said: “There have been no dramas and we don’t need a new muse. There is only one Kate and we are not looking for a replacement.
“Kate has done 14 collections with us. It has been fantastic for us and fantastic for her, but they take more and more time and she cannot do this full-time any more because she has other commitments.”
However one source told the Sunday Times: “Kate Moss’ range has not been selling at the same rate that it was and was in danger of running out of steam. At one point, she was doing six collections a year but they cut it back to two a year because they could not sustain it and that is when it started to falter.”
Meanwhile, Greens’ 19-year-old Chloe is set to begin training with the company, determined to launch her own clothing range. She has harboured dreams of being a fashion designer since she began helping her father choose new collections at the age of 10, reports the Daily Mail. “Hopefully, one day I might design a ‘Chloe Green at Topshop’ range, she said in an earlier interview.
